At Switzer Engineering and Fabrication, our workshop is powered by a collection of advanced machines—most of which we have personally upgraded or custom built to meet the exact needs of our work. From precision CNC mills and lathes to specialized laser systems and one-of-a-kind fabrication equipment, each tool reflects our hands-on engineering approach and commitment to accuracy. These machines allow us to design, prototype, and manufacture everything from small, intricate components to larger, production-ready parts. By enhancing and building our own equipment, we ensure the flexibility, precision, and reliability needed to bring our clients’ ideas to life.

Tormach 1100M CNC Mill

This Tormach 1100M CNC mill, upgraded with a custom enclosure and an automatic tool changer, delivers high-precision milling with enhanced convenience and safety. The enclosure helps contain debris, dust, and coolant, keeping the workspace clean and tidy, while the tool changer allows for seamless transitions between multiple cutting tools — improving workflow efficiency and reducing manual intervention. Together, these upgrades make this mill ideal for production-level work, prototyping, or complex parts where repeatability, flexibility, and a tidy workspace matter.

CNC-Converted Taig Micro Mill

Our Taig Micro Mill has been fully converted to CNC, transforming this compact machine into a highly capable tool for precision work. With its rigid construction and smooth, accurate motion control, it excels at machining small parts with tight tolerances. Whether cutting aluminum, plastics, or light steel, the mill delivers consistent, repeatable results ideal for prototypes, custom components, and detailed miniature features. This setup is perfect for jobs where accuracy matters and larger machines would be excessive.

Wabeco Lathe

The Wabeco D4000E is a robust, precision-engineered lathe designed for fine metalworking and turning tasks. With a solid build and dependable performance, it handles a wide range of materials — from aluminum to steel — delivering smooth, accurate results. Ideal for turning shafts, bushings, small housings, and detailed components, this lathe is a reliable choice for both prototyping and production of high-quality machined parts.

CNC UV Diode Laser

This custom CNC machine is built on a sturdy TwoTrees TTS frame, upgraded with a high-precision UV diode laser module. The result is a capable, compact laser CNC system ideal for detailed engraving, cutting fine materials, and working on small, intricate projects. Its robust structure ensures stability and repeatable accuracy, making it suitable for applications like micro-engraving, delicate cuts, and small-scale fabrication where precision matters.

CNC Wire EDM

This machine features a Rack Robotics Wire-EDM system integrated onto a Creality Ender 3 frame, creating a compact and capable platform for precision metal cutting. The Rack Robotics assembly provides accurate, stable motion and controlled wire cutting, while the Ender 3 frame offers a sturdy, space-efficient foundation. Designed for cutting intricate profiles in conductive metals, this setup is excellent for prototyping, small components, and fine-detail fabrication where traditional machining falls short. It’s an innovative way to bring high-precision EDM capability into a small workshop.

Our Bambu Lab X1-Carbon delivers fast, high-precision 3D printing with excellent surface quality and multi-material capability. With its advanced motion system, active vibration compensation, and high-temperature hotend, it allows us to produce strong, detailed, and dimensionally accurate parts. This printer is ideal for rapid prototyping, functional components, and high-quality models, giving us reliable, repeatable results right here in our shop.
